WHAT IS A PLAY BASED DAYCARE?

What is play based learning: Learning through play is a term used in education and psychology to describe how children use play to make sense of the world around them.

How will play based learning benefit my child:  Through play, children develop who they are.  Their cognitive, language and physical skills develop through their play experiences.  What is also developed is their imagination, concentration, self-confidence and sociability skill which are important skills needed to navigate peer relatins and their world as they get older.

Why learning through play is important: Through play children can develop social and cognitive skills, mature emotionally, and gain the self-confidence required to engage in new experiences and enviroments.

What is the importance of play: Play allows children  to use their creativity while developing their imagination, dexterity, and physical, cognitive and emotional strength.   Play is important to healthy brain development.  It is through play that children at a very early age engage and interact in the world around them.

What about academic learning: There is numerous research and studies that have concluded that children do not  do better in grade school or go on to have success later on in life, however, those in quality play based daycares and preschools do better in school and have higher educational achievements because they have learned to better navigate the world around them.

What to expect from Kids Connections Daycare: We believe in ensuring that children learn about self control, taking turns, using their words, understanding their emotions, following instructions, using their imaginations, making friends and making messes.  They will not be drilled on learning numbers, letters, colors, and having academics pushed on them.  You're a child once and we believe  that childhood should be steeped in play and learning through these experiences.  They have years ahead of them to learn academics.
